Crowns and Bridges

A crown is a new, artificial top that is put on a broken tooth. It represents more thorough reconstruction than a filling, though the procedure and the materials used are largely the same. These crowns provide the exposed parts of the tooth with the protection they need to avoid further decay, and they can be made to look like a natural part of your mouth.

Bridges are used to fill in gaps in your mouth created by crooked or missing teeth. They consist of a pair of crowns, installed on the teeth adjacent to the gap, which act as anchors to hold an artificial tooth between them. In this way they literally “bridge” the gap so as to fill out your bite, save your jaw structure, and improve the overall aesthetic of your smile.
