Sealants

In order to help you fight cavities, our Federal Way dentist can equip you with what are known as “dental sealants”. These are razor-thin coats of liquid-plastic material applied to the chewing surfaces of your molars. It’s easy for bacteria to pool in the deep nooks of these teeth, so this is a common starting place for tooth decay. A sealant completely blocks off these vulnerable areas from the harmful effects of plaque, making them effectively impervious to decay for as long as the sealant remains intact.

Sealants are invisible, unobtrusive, and very easy to install. Under normal circumstances, they can last for years at a time before they need to be put in again. It’s recommended that all children have dental sealants, so make an appointment to get your kids protected as soon as possible.
